A FEW HELPFUL DETAILS
Fundraiser FAQs
Everything you need to know before you order.
What makes these candles special?
These candles are hand-poured by Adorn, a candle maker based in Chicago's Portage Park neighborhood. They are made with a blend of beeswax and coconut wax derived from coconut oil, with a slow-burning wooden wick.
Adorn's owner, Lilia, thoughtfully selects the candle blends. The 9 oz candle offers approximately 75 hours of burn time, depending on care and use.
When does production begin?
Production does not begin until after the fundraiser closes on November 22, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central. All orders placed during the fundraiser are preorders. Candles are made after the ordering window ends, then prepared for school pickup or shipping.
Ordering earlier does not mean your candle will be made or dispatched before the fundraiser ends. Final pickup and shipping timing will be shared once confirmed.
When do I pay?
Payment is collected when you place your order at checkout. Production begins after the fundraiser closes; payment does not mean your candle is ready for pickup or shipping.
When can I order?
Orders open November 3, 2026 and close November 22, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central.
How much goes to the center?
St. Matthew Early Childhood Center receives $6 for each eligible 9 oz candle and $12 for each eligible 16 oz candle. Refunded candle quantities are deducted from the total.
Does my purchase support an individual family?
Every purchase supports the center as a whole. There are no individual family registrations or seller codes.
What sizes and scents are available?
Choose a 9 oz candle for $20 or a 16 oz candle for $32. The available scents are listed in the scent and size selector above.
Can I order different scents and sizes together?
Yes. Add each scent and size combination to your basket, then choose another. Your fundraiser basket keeps your selections together.
Where and when do I collect my order?
Pickup is at St. Matthew Early Childhood Center, 24480 North Old McHenry Road, Hawthorn Woods, IL 60047, after production is complete. Please wait for your ready-for-pickup email. Pickup dates will be shared once confirmed.
Pickup takes place after the fundraiser closes and production is complete. Please wait for your ready-for-pickup email before visiting the center. The fundraiser production schedule applies even if checkout displays a general processing estimate such as "5+ days".
Can my order be shipped?
If shipping is available for your address, you can select it at checkout. Shipping charges are shown before payment. Candles are shipped only after the fundraiser closes and production is complete. A carrier transit estimate describes travel time after dispatch, not the production wait. Production begins after November 22. Shipping starts after the candles have been made. Confirmed dispatch timing will be shared when available.
How does the goal tracker work?
The tracker shows contributions earned for the center, rather than total sales. When automatic updates are connected, the page reads the latest recorded totals. Paid purchases and refunded candle quantities sync about every five minutes. A recent purchase may not appear until the next successful sync. Milestones show our progress toward the shared $2,000 goal.
Who can help with my order?
Contact support@oonchild.app and include your order number if you have one.
